Extended Menu 1
After the "Prepare For Kombat" screen appears, press X, L1, L2. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear the sound of a cymbal. Then, press Up at the "Kombat" option of the Kombat Kube and a blue question mark will appear. Now the following options will be available: Free Play (off/on), Smoke (off/on), Fatality Time (on/off), and Level Select (off/on).

Extended Menu 2
At the copyright screen, press X, Circle, Triangle, R1(2), R2(2), R1(2). If you entered the code correctly, Shao Kahn will say "You'll never win". Then, press Up at the "Kombat" option of the Kombat Kube and a blue question mark will appear with two more options: Round Match (off/on), 1 Hit Death (off/on).

Infinite Continues
During story mode, press Up(2), Right(2), Left(2), Down(2).

Random Select
On the select screen, press Up + Start to select a random character.

Ultimate Kombat Kodes
At the copyright screen, press the D-pad in a 360 degree clockwise circle (Down, Left, Up, Right). Then, a prompt for an Ultimate Kombat Kode will appear. Now the icons on the bottom of the VS screen can be changed by pressing the HP, HK, and LK buttons in that order. Pressing Up and a button changes the icons in reverse order. Player one selects the first three codes and Player two controls the last three. When icons are placed in a certain combination, a Kombat Kode is revealed.

The ten possible icons and number of button presses are:
